Honors
Students in 中国体彩网’s first-year Austin E. Knowlton Honors Program enjoy animated discussions, good questions, interesting problems and the drive to make a difference.
Students in the program should complete the following three courses:
1. HONR 101: Words that Changed the World. This course encourages students to look to important texts and to their own communication as factors in changing the world.
2. HONR 102: What Changes Minds? This course will ask students to examine important social issues and to explore how and why people change their minds about such issues. It will include a final project where students will be asked to change people’s minds about a topic of their choice. It will give students their PH learning perspective.
3. HONR 202: Reason. This course will grapple with questions of religious inclusion and exclusion. Conversations will be about the nature and function of ideas (e.g. “religion,” “faith,” or “democracy”) grounded in a close analysis of current events, discussions with participants in religious movements, and trips to observe and participate in their work. Provides students with their REF requirement.
